Last year we attempted to find our artistic talents at one of the Paint Nights that are held at various restaurants around town, and while we had a really fun time, we did feel a bit intimidated and inadequate by the whole thing. So, to hopefully be able to do better next time, our talented resident artist, Queen Leslie, invited us to her house for an Art Class. She promised no matter how clumsy and untalented we feel, we would be able to learn some techniques, practice various brush strokes, attempt shading and other tricks and art skills, and all the while we would be in a nice, safe and comfortable environment. What the heck! OK, let's do this!
Leslie had everything all set up for us when we arrived . . . blank papers, brushes, paints, cups of water, everything we would need to practice our artistic (?) skills.

And we did our best to duplicate what she did -

Soon our papers were filled with squiggles, lines and doodles
Not perfect, but actually a lot of fun. |
Then, just before we broke for lunch, Queen Leslie showed us the picture she expected us to replicate! She said, "No worries, it's super easy." "A piece of cake." "My Jr. High students did it with no problem."

Thankfully, our panic was interrupted by a delicious Baked Potato Bar and Salad lunch . . .

After lunch, it was back to the art work. Leslie painstakingly showed us how to create every part of the picture . . .
