Pageant Of Our Lord: This amazing show never gets old, no matter how many times we see it. It's always awesome, inspiring and wonderful. This year's theme was "Fear Not", and all through the program they presented scriptures that encourage and remind us that God is in control even when circumstances seem impossible, and that we are not to fear even in the most difficult times because He is always with us. Couldn't have been a more perfect or timely theme.

We arrived at Rolling Hills Covenant Church early so we could go into the make-up room and see some of the characters being made up for their art pieces. Most of the "models" were eating lunch, but some came over to chat with us, and there were also lots of photographs around the room showing the make-up process. We borrowed a few of those . . . .

Fun Fact: Because the models have to remain perfectly still for several minutes, which means learning hollow breathing and no movement at all, the eyes are painted on the eyelids so the models can keep their eyes closed, hence no blinking. The painted eyes look so realistic, if you didn't know, you would never guess.

Soon it was time to find our seats and for the show to begin. As always, it was spectacular . . . A full live orchestra, a 60+ voice choir, the two MC's plus several other people who speak, sing and dance between art pieces, and the amazing models that portray the art pieces themselves. Not to mention all the people behind-the-scenes. In all, it takes over 300 people to make this amazing presentation happen each year. And they've been doing it continuously for 33 years. I sure hope they never stop.
